LAUREN MOORE

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Born in Texas, Lauren spent her early years moving around the globe, living in the UAE for nine years and Nigeria for two, before settling in Florida. After a decade in Vancouver, she proudly embraces her identity as a BC gal.

Lauren’s journey in the hospitality industry spans eight years. From a young age, she was captivated by the allure of restaurants. Despite her shyness, her passion grew, leading her to start with baking gigs at cozy cafes while studying at Emily Carr. Gaining confidence, Lauren eventually took the plunge and applied at Botanist.

Her career path is diverse, beginning at Lucky’s Doughnuts and moving on to Culprit Coffee as Head Baker for a gluten-free cafe. Although the cafe is no longer in operation, the experience was invaluable. Lauren then served as Dessert Chef at Juice Truck, followed by a role as Expo at Botanist, where she was promoted to Supervisor. She also worked as a Server/Lodge Attendant at Mike Wiegele’s before joining Published on Main as a Server during the pandemic.

Working as an Expo at Botanist profoundly influenced Lauren’s career. It was her first restaurant job and front-of-house experience, teaching her to be aware of every detail in a fast-paced environment. The role required intense focus and calm under pressure, skills that have shaped who she is today. Her confidence grew “expo-nentially” (haha) during her time there.

At Published on Main, Lauren hopes to help the staff achieve their goals within the restaurant and beyond. What she loves about Published is the constant strive for improvement and supporting the team in a healthy environment.

The hospitality industry is Lauren’s passion because it’s all about creating memorable experiences. The personalized touches provided can truly brighten someone’s day, making every moment worthwhile.

Beyond hospitality, Lauren is an abstract landscape artist, mainly using oil paint but occasionally dabbling in watercolours. Her art captures the peace found in nature, away from the city’s hustle and bustle. She aims to share the magic of the outdoors and bring a sense of calm and wonder to those who see her work.
